Where To Stay

Fairmont Southampton : Really nice hotel near Horseshoe Bay Beach. Rooms were nice, hotel is in a scenic part of the island and had a great daily breakfast included in the room rate. The hotel isn’t right on the beach but it’s walkable (down a hill) or they have frequent shuttles down to the beach and back every 15 minutes which is directly next to Horeshoe Bay (the most beautiful pink sand beaches in Bermuda). There is a private part of the beach just for the Fairmont with beach chairs and umbrellas along with a beach cafe with sandwiches, burgers, guac, tacos, drinks etc. The chairs do fill up in the afternoon during peak season but if you get down there late morning, getting a chair is no issue. They also have pools, a coffee shop and a restaurant on property. My only issue with this hotel is it is far from the downtown area (20-30 minutes) where all the night life is. If you’re looking for a more peaceful place to stay on the calm side of the island, the Fairmont is a great option.

Hamilton Princess : I will start by saying, I have never stayed at this hotel but the location in downtown Hamilton is amazing and remember the property being beautiful. The Princess is very well known in Bermuda and in a great location, right near downtown. If you want to stay near the action and night life, this is a great option.

The Reefs : Gorgeous hotel in SouthHampton - - about 30 minutes from downtown, not far from Horseshoe Bay. The hotel is situated on a gorgeous pink sand beach with phenomenal on-site restaurants. We ate at Coconuts for lunch and views are incredible. I assume dinner is even better! If you’re not staying on this side if the island but plan to visit Horseshoe Bay, Coconuts at The Reef hotel is definitely worth a stop in!

Where To Eat

Breezes Restaurant ♡♡ : I would say this restaurant is a must do and my favorite in Bermuda. Incredible food and seafood, gorgeous views and amazing service. Breezes is right on the water and the best restaurant to watch the sunset in Bermuda. The restaurant is on the far end of the island, away from downtown (a solid 30+ minutes), or only 15 from the Fairmont Southampton if you’re staying there. It is definitely worth the trek for dinner and a sunset, highly recommend!

Bolero: Bolero is a great, cozy, tapas bistro in the heart of downtown Hamilton. Seafood was fresh and delicious and had a great ambiance inside. This is a great option if you’re downtown for dinner and want to hit the bars after. They were able to accommodate our group of 10!

Blu : Really nice restaurant about 10-15 minutes outside of downtown Hamilton. Great seafood and sushi, and also have a large menu that anyone could find something they like on there (steaks, chicken, pizza, pasta etc). Go before dark as it has beautiful views overlooking the harbor. I remember the sushi, grilled mixed seafood dish and pizzas all being a huge hit! Also, we had a big group of 10 and they were easily able to accommodate us as the restaurant was fairly big! * I would double check the dress code, I don’t believe flip flops are allowed.

Coconuts (The Reefs) : Gorgeous hotel in Southampton with restaurants insde - about 30 minutes from downtown, not far from Horseshoe Bay.

The Swizzle Inn ♡ : this is a must do in Bermuda. Famous spot - yes it’s touristy but it’s fun to go to. This is the oldest pub in Bermuda (early 1990s) and original home of the famous Bermuda Rum Swizzle (a must-try while in Bermuda). Food was decent, standard bar & BBQ type food. Fun place to go for a relaxed environment. They also have a nice gift shop which is great for gifts/souvenirs. If you have a cool sticker/bumper sticker of where you’re from or your business, definitely bring one to put on the wall! Worth a spot in for the sentiment of Bermuda!

Things To Do

Horseshoe Bay♡♡ : one of the most famous and beautiful pink sand beaches in Bermuda. The beach is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous rock formations and coves you can walk around/climb and see while at the beach. My sister and I walked all the way to the end of the beach and found a gorgeous alcove that was more peaceful and less heavily trafficked. When you enter Horseshoe Bay, take a left and keep walking to the end of the beach past where all the people are, you’ll find it ! When you enter the beach, there is a cafe where you can get food and drinks (including beer & wine). I’d say this is a must do in Bermuda :)

Catamaran (Restless Native) ♡♡: going out on a boat while in Bermuda is obviously a must-do. I can’t recommend the Restless Native enough if you have a group/bachelorette party/couples trip- we had 10 girls and could have comfortably fit double that. Our day on this catamaran was the absolute highlight of the trip. There crew made sure we saw the island, swam, drank and had a blast while onboard. We brought all of our own drinks, cups and food onboard and they had coolers, ice etc.  to keep everything cold onboard. I am not sure if they do semi private tours with other groups but it’s worth looking into!

Massages (Grotto Bay) ♡ :  this is a very fun and unique spa experience inside of Prospero Cave! The spa is part of Grotto Bay Resort and is underground inside a crystal cave (look at the pics in link!). Very cool and fun. The services were good, not amazing but enjoyed the overall experience / day. If you do a spa service, you can use their property which has a really nice private beach and restaurant.

Crystal Caves : you can do a tour of the beautiful Crystal caves in Bermuda. The tour isn’t overly long or dragged out but is a very cool thing to see and learn about the history of the caves and island. I think tickets are $25 and is a fun family activity. I went in college with my parents and we all loved it!

St. George's Island : beautiful and quaint part of Bermuda with a cool downtown are - ice cream shops, restaurant, shops etc. St George’s is the former capital of Bermuda and is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Fun family activity and some interesting historical sites you can see if you’re a bit beached-out. There is a ferry from downtown Hamilton or a 30 minute drive. The ferry is a more fun option!  I wish I remembered where we ate but I remember there being some cool spots in George’s island!

Hamilton: there are tons of great shops, restaurants and bars in downtown Hamilton! When we used to go with my family in the summers, we stayed at the marina in Hamilton. It’s a blast with tons to do. Definitely walk around one day or afternoon and check out their shops etc

Fishing: there is a ton of great fishing, especially for blue marlin in Bermuda. If you have more questions on charters or want more information, let me know and I will get more information!

Dockyard: this is where most of the cruise ships come in on the far end of the island. It’s very touristy to go out in this part of the island. There are tons of happening bars/restaurants, live music/DJs- probably somewhere my 19 year old self would have thought was heaven. I would recommend this to 18-22 year olds but not past that age range!
